“Kanahoee” operates Heavy Tackle game fishing trips from September to December. Trips can be conducted from Townsville, Cairns, Port Douglas, Cooktown or Lizard Island. At certain times of the year “Kanahoee” can travel as far south as the Gold Coast for Medium and Heavy Tackle charters.
When
Giant Black Marlin fishing on the Great Barrier Reef is at its best between September and December. At this time large female marlin congregate on the continental shelf and outlying reefs to spawn. These marlin, many over 1000lb, can be captured and released in large numbers.

Light Tackle
Fish world renowned Cape Bowling Green, only 40nm from Townsville, for Sailfish and juvenile Black Marlin. This area has produced many ultra light tackle and fly fishing records.
Light tackle fishing on the Great Barrier Reef can yield Sailfish Black Marlin, Spanish Mackerel, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Cobia, Dogtooth Tuna, Giant Trevally and many more pelagic species.
