The Captain, local legend Dave Pemberton has a wealth of experience in big game fishing. Dave, married with two children has been a Charter fishing boat Captain since 1986 and has been a shipwright since 1983.

Captain Dave Pemberton first captained the Australian Invitational Billfish tournament in 1988. But this was to be the first of many tournaments that Dave has been involved in.

These days, most of the large black marlin is tagged and released. The largest black marlin weighed in at 1018 lbs, Angler: Jay Meyer. Other memorable captures are:

• 992 lb Black Marlin, Female Angler: Barbara Douglas. Captured on 80 lb line.
• 987 lb Black Marlin, Angler: George Flourentzou. Largest Black Marlin Weighed, Lexus Classic.
• Captain Dave Pemberton’s best days fishing: Light Tackle; 12lb Line, 27 black marlin and sailfish tagged and released in one day.
• On Heavy Tackle; 130lb line, 2 black marlin, estimated weight in excess 1000lbs and another estimated 900lbs and two others estimated at 400lbs in one day of fishing.

Dave started in the game fishing industry at the age of 16 and has had extensive experience in these waters for the past 29 years.
